Once upon a time, there were people
who communicate through letters after that technology brought little bit
change than people instantly communicate by sending (receiving) calls and
messages with cellular phones, as the world becomes smarter, smartphones are also
becoming smarter each and every day, and it plays vital role universally. It
was introduced for several positive purposes such as marketing, instant communication,
managing personal information, and managing social sites. People can watch
videos, movies, and listen to songs anywhere anytime. The smartphone is known as a mobile
phone with advanced features and modern functionality instead of traditional
like sending messages and making calls with cellular phones. The advanced
features of smartphones are to display photos, built-in cameras, audio, and video
recording, play videos and audios, navigation, play games, using social sites,
searching, and managing e-mails, documents, and information, etc. Firstly
smartphones only used for business purpose but today smartphone become a common
choice of every individual. Today’s smartphone has been populated since the last
thirteen years when the Apple company introduced the smartphone in mass marketing,
but actually, smartphones have been using in the market since 1993. In Pakistan, there is 51% of the population is using smartphones in 2020 (statistica.com).
Mobile technology has hugely changed the cultural norms and behavior of
individuals. As everything has positive as well as negative impacts. So the
smartphones are also having a lot of negative effects on its users. Due to the
joyful and attractive nature of smartphones, mostly children are attracted to
it.
Negative Impacts of smartphones on children
Studies show that scientist warns
those who use too much the smartphone
because due to spending too much time on the smartphone they are at risk of
mental health problems.
Another
study suggests that spending only one hour per day on any screen becomes more
dangerous and it rises anxiety and depression among children.
The
use of smartphones also imposes bad effects on eyesight. Due to spending day
and night in front of the screen of a smartphone can weaken your eyesight.
When
they are using smartphones, what is happening around them? They ignore it. The
connection with the natural environment is very important for children. Because
of the good connection with nature enhances emotional well-being. It helps them
to develop their compassion, insight, and empathy.
In
conclusion, no doubt the smartphones are very smart when we use it in our daily
life but its huge hidden harmful impacts will harm the children so, it is good
to put the smartphones away from your children.
