Education in Pakistan is facing problems |
Education every human being whether rich or poor, male or female is one of the basic requirements. This is a basic human right. If we look, the difference between human and animal is due to education. Education is the supporter of development for any nation or society. It is this education that causes the rise and fall of nations. It is a fact that developed countries have made their place in the world with the help of education.it has always been important and this is one of the reasons for the development of these countries like China, Japan, USA have always given more importance to the education sector than any other sector and also benefited from this sector and developed. Getting an education doesn't just mean getting a degree from a school, college or university but with it comes learning to distinguish and civilize so that man can take care of his social traditions and society. Education is the beautification that beautifies the personality and character of man.
Pakistan's education system
Countries in the world whose economies have collapsed have a
defense budget of billions of rupees. But education budget is not enough that
is the cause of their destruction. If any country wants to develop so they need
to strengthen their educational institutions. The nations that have developed
to this day have done so only through knowledge. It is not necessary to acquire
knowledge alone it is also necessary to apply.
According to Pakistan's 2015-2016 academic statistics 21% of
primary schools in Pakistan are run with the help of only one teacher and 14%
have only one room. 40% of schools have no electricity, 29% of schools do not
have access to safe drinking water 43%
of schools have dilapidated buildings and 7% of schools have no school building
at all.
According to education experts, Pakistan's literacy rate of
58% is an obstacle to the country's economic growth. The situation in the
education sector in Pakistan has been unsatisfactory and according to official
figures, 22 million children still do not go to school.
2017 government officials have been saying that in this era
of government, the education budget will be gradually increased to 4%. But so far this has not happened. Under Article 25A of the Constitution of
Pakistan, the state is bound to provide free education to all children between
the ages of five and 16.
The literacy rate in urban areas is 74% while in rural areas
it is 49%. It should be noted that the official literacy rate in 2007 and 2008
was only 58 percent. Twice in recent years, the rate has reached 60%, but then
came down.
Teaching methods
One of the key elements of the curriculum is the teaching
method. Teachers must adopt traditional methods as well as the latest teaching
methods. And use your teaching strategy to suit the occasion. Old and
traditional methods are still used in Pakistan today. Old textbooks are still
part of our curriculum. Education is the only way we can improve our future generations,
poverty can also be reduced with the help of education.
Education is a process, through which an individual and a
nation gain self-awareness, and this process is a means of refining the
consciousness of the people who make up this nation. It is the education and
training of the new generation that makes them aware of the ways of life and
makes them realize the purpose and duties of life. Education is a nation's own
cultural, Mental and it carries the intellectual heritage to future generations
and it instills in them an attachment to those purposes of life.
The solution of problems
The move by the government is commendable in that it has taken
the initiative to provide free education up to primary level under which the
government provides free books to children up to primary level and the fee is
also waived. The government's job is not just to provide aids it is also
necessary to act on it. The government should enforce such terms and conditions
under which this matter should be taken care of education which is being
provided free of cost to children up to primary level.
Despite having government funds no significant attention is
paid to educational buildings. Even today, in many backward areas, children are
forced to take classes in the open instead of in classrooms. On the one hand,
our education system is very bad. On the other hand, there is a severe shortage
of qualified teachers. Teachers teach children not as a duty but as a debt.
Teachers seem to fail to develop children's minds. In addition, the flaws in our education
system could jeopardize the future of future generations.
The government can improve the quality of education in the
country by following a few suggestions. In addition to providing education, the
educational environment in rural and backward areas should be improved. Provide
equal educational environment for girls
So that they can contribute to the development of the country by getting education. Send qualified teachers to backward areas where education system is poor and they should be monitored. The annual performance of teachers should also be checked and give rewards to teachers who give good results which could encourage them. Electronic classes should also be arranged for the students so that students can also benefit from modern technology.
