You can set up virtual rooms on any topic you want and any user can be a part of this conversation. You can raise your hand if you have something to say but in this app it is up to the host to give you a chance to speak or not. Sometimes hundreds or even thousands of people join these virtual rooms to listen to famous people. However, unlike other apps, they can neither respond nor comment without permission.
Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly. According to critics, since it does not allow all kinds of people to talk in any way, only those people who belong to a certain class come in contact with each other. One of the features of Clubhouse is that whatever is talked about is live and cannot be recorded. According to some critics, this makes it difficult to see what is being said in these virtual rooms. The clubhouse has also been accused of non-transparency by some quarters. There are reports of racial and gender bias and lies being spread openly in its virtual rooms, but there has been no apparent response.
