Artificial intelligence is comprised of two words one is artificial and the other is intelligence. The term “artificial” means a copy of something natural, something is manmade. The term “intelligence” means the capacity to learn and solve problems, or able to think.
The characteristics of intelligence are: ability to think, decision-maker, analysis, plan, learn, recognize, and problem-solving. Artificial intelligence is machines that are programmed to thinks like a human and mimic their action. Machine learning is the subset of artificial intelligence which refers to the concept that computer programs automatically learn without human assistance.
As technology advances, previous benchmarks that defined artificial intelligence become outdated. For example, machines that calculate basic functions or recognize text through optical character recognition are no longer considered to embody artificial intelligence, since this function is now taken for granted as an inherent computer function.
The various examples of artificial intelligence are discussed below:
Automatic doors
A door that opens and closes automatically with the help of sensors, which sense the approach of a person.

Automatic cars
An automobile car with automatic transmission does not require the driver to shift gears or steering manually, it is driverless car once a programmer feeds the car with accurate coding, it drives itself.
Automatic water tap
An automatic faucet or tape is known as hands-free tap, or touchless faucet which senses the motion of a human’s hand. When the sensor detects a human hand mechanism opens its valve to allow water to flow in response to the presence of the user’s hands in close proximity.

Automatic fire alarm
An automatic fire alarm is a system that detects fire by monitoring environmental changes with fire for example smoke and heat.

Artificial hand
It is a manmade hand designed for replacing the sensory-motor or grasping capabilities of a human hand.
