Corruption in Pakistan and its impact on society

The misuse of trusted authority powers for private gain is known as corruption. Corruption can be named as Defilement. It dissolves trust, debilitates vote based system, hampers monetary turn of events, and further worsens disparity, neediness, social division, and a natural emergency. Corruption can be of many forms and it can include behaviors as followings:
  • Community workers demanding or taking cash or favors for exchange in services.
  • Public money is misused by the politicians or giving employments to their supporters, relatives, and loved ones or they providing offers of the employment to the strange persons by demanding cash.
  • Organizations are corrupting officials to acquire profitable deals.
Corruption can take place everywhere like in government, courts, business, media, and in civil society, as well as through entire parts from health and education to infrastructure and sports. Politicians, public servants, government officials, business people, individual society members, and anyone can involve in corruption. There are three scales of corruption, the first one is the petty corruption which occurs for small favors among the small number of people. The second one is the grand corruption which occurs at the highest levels of the government, and the third one is systematic corruption which is primarily corruption due to the weaknesses of an organization or process.
In Pakistan every individual is almost corrupt so, NAB is working for the public functionaries at the forefront and is playing a vital role in keeping the country clean and to prevent the country from defilement as well as to control the corruption. In Pakistan, almost, every politician, every business person, every individual person is corrupt due to improper working for the community or organizations or corrupt for not paying their taxes, and also there are many reasons involving corruption, such as it starts from milkman to the politicians.
Due to corruption, the lack of quality occurs in social services such as medical stores sell out free medicines or samples of medicines to the patients, recently in Nawabshah, many medical stores sealed due to selling out fake and rate on inflation medicines. Due to this reason members of society highly affected. In Pakistan, there is a lack of proper justice due to corruption. So, individual persons from society are facing injustice problems. Almost all organizations doing impurity in merit and selling jobs at high rates of rupees, due to this reason, the chances of unemployment are increasing. There are so many impacts of corruption on society such as Poor health and hygiene, pollution, accidents due to broken roads and no traffic rules in small cities, failure of genuine research, and lack of faith and trust in governments, etc.
In general, corruption is increasing in Pakistan day by day from common society members to democracy. From the corruption perceptions index, in 2019, Pakistan is the 120th number in the ranking list with a corruption score of 32. So, we should need to continue our slogan “say no to corruption” by acting and making clean and corruption-free Pakistan.
